After a lot of rumors, Xiaomi has finally announced the debut of Xiaomi Mi 9T smartphone. It will arrive on June 12th and it is not known whether it will launch in an event or online. It is speculated that Mi 9T could be the rebranded Redmi K20 for global market. The Redmi K20 duos were unveiled last month in China as the brand’s first pop-up selfie camera phones. Xiaomi teasers have also revealed that Mi 9T will house a pop-up selfie camera. The company also shared the phones back image which confirms three rear cameras with LED flash, and the absence of fingerprint sensor at back confirms in-display fingerprint sensor on Mi 9T.
Ahead of its launch, the Mi 9T has been spotted on Geekbench revealing some of its key specifications. As per the listing Mi 9T will sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.8GHz octa-core processor code-named as “Davinci” and 6GB of RAM. Now the same code-name was used for Redmi K20 prior to its release which gives us a reason to believe Mi 9T as rebranded Redmi K20 which has Snapdragon 730 SoC. Geekbench listing revealed that Mi 9T managed to score 2,540 points in the single-core test and 6,911 in the multi-core test which is very respectful. The device is said to run on Android 9.0 pie out of the box.
Mi 9T is rumored to boast a 6.39 inch AMOLED display with full HD+ display. It is likely to sport a 20 MP selfie camera and triple rear camera setup of 48MP + 8MP + 13MP. It will be backed by a 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charge support. Mi 9T is expected to have a Pro model too which can be a rebranded K20 Pro.
