The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi acquired the hardware business of Meitu last year in March and has now surprisingly announced launch of new selfie-centric smartphone series tomorrow. The smarphone series is to be launched in partnership with Meitu and is aimed towards the female crowd.
Meitu shared a new teaser poster online and than the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun thanked them confirming the launch of new smartphone series tomorrow. A poster has also leaked online ahead of its launch showing a Meitu smartphone with flip camera module with three sensors. It is similar to the Asus Zenfone 6 but has bigger flip module as Zenfone 6 has dual camera sensors and this one has triple camera sensors on flip module.
As it was a sudden announcement so there is nothing confirmed about the specifications but we do have some clue. The phone is targeted to female users and has a pink gradient finish with pink buttons on right frame and curved sides. It may have a 48MP Sony IMX568 sensor as primary camera. The smartphone is rumored to the Mi CC9 which is already leaked and is code-named as “Little Fairy”. Mi CC9 is listed on TENAA which states it to sport an AMOLED display and in-display fingerprint sensor. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC.
